In my humble opinion, names need mean something important.

Or course, this is not always true. Taking into consideration the case of a walrus, for instance. After all, a walrus is not exactly wal-ish, or r-ish, or us-ish. (Quite unlike the case of an f-ish.)And don't even get me started on Marmaduke.

Whine you over-sized dog.

So it's actually pretty surprising that I take pride in my name, which is a typical Asian triple mouthful of syllables. Besides my family name, I have two characters juxtaposed side by side. 婉 (wǎn) and 君 (jūn), the former being a symbol of feminine beauty and grace, and the latter, a rather contradictory sign of heroic gentleman. No surprise that I grew up the dirt-kneed tomboy of a girl that I was.

But the contradictory little brat who climbed trees with the boys, cried over an unfortunate grasshopper who lost to a shoe a second too late, and found solace in books and rough scraps alike, grew up. Now, she's left the nest (albeit clinging on to a few twigs) and is pursuing a double major in what might as well be a country within a country, Texas. Thus said, this youngin' felt obliged to take on the gimmick of The College Misfit.

(by =Little-Power)If you hadn't figured it out yet, the girl is me.

Anyways, I've taken a while in getting to this blog project of mine, but at least you readers can be assured, that I am well-versed in the oft sung song of procrastination. But being a college misfit as I so claim, I've actually gotten to the point of getting it done before I graduate.

So, wish me luck in my journaling, drop a comment every now and then, and read me.
Excitedly eager,

The College Misfit.
